When Barack Obama accepted the presidency this November he said "We are greater than the sum of our individual ambitions, and we remain more than a collection of red states and blue states. We are and forever will be the United States of America."

But, I'm stuck on another thought...why is there so much animosity and dissension between our elected officials? Why are we, and they, not united behind the man who was elected by the majority of Americans to guide us toward a better tomorrow? It appears that regardless of who won the office, whether by the popular or electoral vote, those who represent the other candidate focus their attention on undermining the success of the victor and our future, your future and my future, by opposing any action that might provide us with an opportunity for that better tomorrow.

I wish I believed that those elected officials, those men and women who promise to make my life better, represented me to that end. Unfortunately I do not believe that  is their focus. I don't believe they ever truly want to cross the aisle or to find common ground. Instead I beleive they want to represent that small percentage of the population who represent the opprotunity for them to be re-elected.

I don't believe that any of them even own anything other than either a red or blue tie.

Where are all the purple ties?

The truth...

This is a blog about finding the truth. I've watched too many advertising sponsored newscasts to believe that I'm getting the whole truth but rather the truth that BIG Advertisers believe. So I thought I would do some investigating. The truth? I've found that it's hard to find. Even the most sincere journalist, the most idealistic newscaster has to answer to an employer who in turn has to answer to a sponsor.

Where to get the truth? I don't know that yet...but...I'm going to do some digging and see what turns up. I'll let you know.
